Book 2: Tina Goes to a Wedding

About Tina Goes to the Market

In Book 3, Farmer Anna (the human who owns the farm Tina and her barnyard friends live on) falls in love with the farmer next door who bought the old ranch that had been sitting empty and the wedding that follows from the animals perspective on both farms.

In the second book, we see more new characters, specifically the farm animals from the farm next door. The animals on both farms conspire to spy on the couple’s dates and doing “recon missions” by sending Ellie the dairy cow out to the field to be their “hooves on the ground” and bringing Dave the Duck as “aerial surveillance and support” who is constantly updating everyone else back at the farm on the status of the date/s.

Like the main characters in the book, they each feature real world elements. It was important to me that people see characters that are diverse but also real and not so far removed from reality. The characters with real world elements talk about important topics but in an easily digestible and understandable format without “weighing you down”.

Specifically, we see Slink the Weasel make an appearance again, as a self-aware and self-actualized and a “self-proclaimed reformed weasel”. We also see more of Mr. Goat’s personality beyond his grumpy angry old man who has a deep affinity for old metal cans and yells at anyone who touches them.

We see why he acts the way they do while featuring snark, sarcasm, and all the feelings that come along with weddings, like feeling you are losing someone you trust so deeply, but also being supportive of them and their decisions.
